There has been a break in the weather
“Weekend” by Bob Martin -06
Yesterday we topped out at 104 degrees, which goes to show that we can find comfort anywhere. I noticed that my paint seemed to not gum up which helps to reduce the general frustration.
Bob I love your color palette, it’s very contemporary and soothing.
I also like the way you paint this lady’s face with different shades of skin to give it a solid dimension and focus contrasting with the flat greenish background, it brings her close to eye.
Intriguing expression, hard to read what is she thinking?

Thanks Angela. This is a painting of one of my daughters best friends. I’ve had difficulties painting people that I know (I don’t understand why) but I am happy with this painting.
I was looking at your collection of paintings but did not see a painting of your daughter, who is stunningly beautiful.

Dear Bob Martin thanks for looking at my collection of paintings.
Regarding your comment about not painting my daughter if you look closer to my work you would will see that I have rather painted my feelings for her… I work from observation but just not in an academic way. I am more interested in expressing feelings and emotions in a more symbolic significance. I hope you understand!

Hi Angela, I understand. I think you are a spiritual person. I was looking for clues as to why I shy away from painting my family or people I know.
