I’ve had the privilege to live in two areas of the country that yearly have what might seen as extreme weather. What I find fascinating is that in Alaska when the temperature rose to 10 below 0, it felt like a heat wave. Now living in Central Arizona, we are enjoying a very cool 103 degrees.

In this painting I am not suggesting that long sleeves are the norm, but it’s not unusual. We are very adaptable. We have learned to appreciate different types of art and expression. In some areas of our lives we have become liberal in our thinking and receptive to many points of view.

“Weekend” by Bob Martin -06island weekend

Yesterday we topped out at 104 degrees, which goes to show that we can find comfort anywhere. I noticed that my paint seemed to not gum up which helps to reduce the general frustration.
